Clinton County Wind Watch is a voluntary group of residents and property owners in Clinton County.  The group was formed in response to concerns about the zoning for Industrial Wind Turbines in the county.

While initially in favor of windpower, after much research we now believe that installing industrial wind turbines is likely to have a profound adverse impact on the personal health and economic health of our county and have detrimental effect on the residents' right to enjoy their homes and properties.  We believe that every resident should be informed in advance about all aspects of the zoning and, to date, this isn't happening.  In our opinion, the negatives of the wind turbines are being played down by the wind farm developer and questions concerning setbacks and noise issues are not being addressed in a satisfactory way by the Clinton County Community Development department.

While wind energy may have it's place, we don't believe that place is in residential areas. We feel more studies are needed in respect to the problems associated with industrial wind turbines before the county is subjected to them.  The millions of tax dollars and electric subsidies that are being spent on these projects would be better spent on conservation measures until wind technology advances further.
